Dr Sudhir Ruparelia, the Chairman of the Ruparelia Group has donated Shs20 million to Nsambya Hospital and the Rotary Club of Nsangi. Ruparelia also donated an ambulance to the Rotary Club of Nsangi to ease transportation of expectant mothers and patients to the health facilities.
Part of the Shs20 million, Shs10 million was given to Nsambya Cancer Ward, while the other Shs10 million was donated to Rotary Club of Nsangi. The Rotary Club of Nsangi had launched a fundraising drive to construct a hospital to help the communities living in the area.
While officiating as the chief guest at the installation of club president Kigoye Yusuf at Molly’s Place at Nsangi, Ruparelia said he had been touched by the work done by the Rotarians and therefore could not turn their invitation.
He said the Rotary Clubs have done a commendable job in helping vulnerable Ugandans to earn decent livings and therefore deserve a pat on the back.
”I thank you for your charity and working tirelessly to change the Ugandans’ ways of living mostly the vulnerable. I am supporting your good cause of building the hospital with an ambulance, and Shs10 million. I am also donating another Shs10 million to Nsambya Cancer Ward,” Ruparelia said.
He said the need to provide a quality healthcare to Ugandans must be supported by all those who can offer a helping hand.

Emmanuel Katongole, the Executive Chairman of Quality Chemicals Limited thank Ruparelia Group for the good gesture and the contribution made by its chairman will help a long way in providing for the country. Katongole said over a period of time, Ruparelia has distinguished himself as a philanthropist who has stood with the suffering Ugandans even during the difficult Covid-19 pandemic when the entire world went under lockdown.
”I want to thank you for being a parent to many Ugandans, as Rotarians we can’t thank you enough for the huge support you have extended to millions of needy Ugandans. During the Covid-19 lockdown you made huge contributions that help many Ugandans and saved them from hunger and starvation,” Katongole said.
Katongole led a fundraising drive during the lockdown that generated more than Shs30 billion to respond to the pandemic. Ruparelia was one of the big donors during the call by president Museveni to all businesses to provide funds to contain the pandemic.
